On November 29th local time, multiple trade union organizations in Italy launched a nationwide strike and multiple demonstrations, demanding that the Italian government increase investment in public services and raise residents’ income levels.

This strike involves multiple public and private sectors. Multiple industries such as healthcare and education went on strike for 8 hours, while the transportation industry, except for railways, went on strike for 4 hours.

The organizers stated that 43 cities, including the capital Rome, have launched protests and marches. On that day, due to the suspension of bus strikes and the march of the parade, the transportation in the central northern Italian city of Bologna was temporarily paralyzed.

Recently, multiple industries have launched several strikes in protest against the Italian government’s budget proposal and demand improved working conditions.

On November 20th, a large-scale strike occurred in the Italian healthcare system, resulting in the cancellation of approximately 1.2 million medical services; On November 23-24, Italian railways held a 24-hour strike, and multiple trains, including high-speed trains, were cancelled.
