Overview of Song Ge’s crackdown on counterfeit and high-quality shops
Cause of the incident: Consumers have reported that Liangpinpuzi lotus root starch differs from other brands, and upon testing, it was found to contain cassava starch.
The anti-counterfeiting process:
- Crackdown on Fake Bloggers: Song Ge and Bounty Hunter Ashes released a video, pointing out that Liangpinpuzi lotus root powder mixed with cassava starch, and no “powder” was detected in the sour and spicy powder.
- Conflict and Investigation: The anti-counterfeiting team was neck tied and their filming equipment was stolen during a meeting with the staff of the Municipal Supervision Bureau. Both parties were later taken to the police station. The Wuhan market supervision department has initiated an investigation.
Liangpinpuzi responds:
- Product delisting and declaration: Liangpinpuzi has delisted the relevant products and issued a statement stating that multiple batches of products have passed inspection.
- Legal action: Liangpinpuzi reported and dealt with malicious rumor mongers, and filed a lawsuit.
Official announcement: The Market Supervision Bureau of Dongxihu District, Wuhan City announced that the products reported by Liangpinpuzi, including the batch involved, are all qualified and the reported issue is not valid.
The customs inspection results have been released: Songge Dahu has revealed that this quality inspection report is from Chinese customs and was purchased on Tmall. China Post delivered it directly to customs and directly brought Tmall, Post, and Customs into the office. If Songge fails, these three major institutions will be questioned. By this point, it can be said that it has been set up as a “heavenly bureau”!
The video of Songge’s fight against tiger Tiktok has been taken off the shelf: Songge’s latest video has an inscription “The form is stronger than the people”, and it is revealed that the video has been complained of and restricted from spreading screenshots. So far, all the videos of Songge’s fight against tiger about good shops have been lost.
The “Situation Statement” released by the Market Supervision Bureau of Dongxihu District, Wuhan on November 18 did not put an end to the Liangpinpuzi (603719. SH) ingredient list incident. In the past week, there has been a tough situation between the company and the informant, and the incident continues to escalate.
On November 24th, as a whistleblower, self media blogger “Song Ge Da Hu” released a video showing that all videos related to the Liangpinpuzi incident have been taken down. The reason is that on November 23rd, all related videos were complained of infringement and have since been restricted from dissemination by the platform.
It is reported that on November 18th, the Market Supervision Bureau of Dongxihu District, Wuhan City, as the investigating department, issued a statement regarding the report by two self media anti-counterfeiting bloggers, “Song Ge Beats Tigers” and “Bounty Hunter Ashes”, that “the ingredient list of Liangpinpuzi products was falsified, and there was no flour in the sour and spicy noodles, and the lotus root starch was mixed with cassava starch”. The statement showed that, based on the investigation response letter from the market supervision departments of the two places (Anhui and Henan) and the investigation results of the bureau, the reporter’s report was not valid.
On the early morning of November 19th, Liangpinpuzi issued a clarification announcement, stating that the false public opinion spread by anti-counterfeiting internet celebrities seriously disrupted the normal production and operation order of enterprises, and had a very serious negative impact on brand reputation. At present, the company has fixed relevant evidence to report and handle malicious rumor mongers, and will simultaneously file a lawsuit.
Just when the outside world thought that the incident would come to an end, the self media did not show weakness. On November 20th, “Song Ge Beats Tigers” and “Bounty Hunter Ashes” released a video, which pointed out that the Hefei Market Supervision Administration only tested the samples retained by Anhui Yanzhifang Food Co., Ltd., and did not cover the multiple batches of products held by the whistleblower.
On November 21st, two self media bloggers announced through video that they will file an administrative lawsuit against the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Dongxihu District in Wuhan City by mail, and also sue Liangpinpuzi for punitive damages.
In addition, according to the response video, when two anti-counterfeiting bloggers asked if the case had been closed, the Hefei Municipal Supervision Bureau stated that the case has not been cross examined and has not been concluded yet. Regarding the inspection results of the two batches of lotus root starch on June 4th and June 22nd, the Hefei Municipal Supervision Bureau also stated that no conclusion has been reached yet.
According to a report by The Paper on November 23, the supervisory department of Hefei, where the manufacturer is located, responded that the investigation is still ongoing, while the supervisory department of Jiaozuo responded that the notification shall prevail. As the event further escalated, more self media bloggers also joined the discussion of the event, including some food bloggers who followed up and evaluated it.
As of now, Liangpinpuzi has not responded to any further developments regarding the subsequent events.
