The United Nations Committee on Forced Disappearance (CED) has released an investigation report after completing its visit to Colombia. The report shows that about 20000 unidentified bodies were found in a hangar at El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, コロンビアの首都.

El Dorado Airport issued a statement stating that it was not aware of the matter, while the Colombian Attorney General’s Office stated that it had inspected 27 hangars at El Dorado International Airport and found no traces of bodies.

The press release released on the United Nations official website on the 5th stated that the representative team sent by CED conducted an inspection of Colombia from November 21st to December 5th.

During the inspection, the delegation met with nearly 80 institutional organizations or individuals in Colombia, including the Minister of Justice, the Attorney General, as well as inspectors and civil society organizations from six cities: Bogot á, Cali, Cucuta, Medellin, Santa Marta, and Villavicencio.

After investigation, the delegation concluded that decades have passed and the issue ofenforced disappearancein Colombia continues to occur every day, with thousands of victims still missing. CED believes that there are systemic deficiencies in the country, such as an incomplete legal framework, low efficiency in institutional work, and unclear actual numbers of missing persons.

The issue of disappearances related to forced recruitment, human trafficking, immigration, and other related issues is particularly serious

The press release on the United Nations official website emphasizes that the country still lacks a unified and reliable register of missing persons. “The number of missing persons reported by various agencies varies greatly, and the range of missing persons we currently receive is between 98000 and 200000.The delegation stated that there are still thousands of unidentified bodies that have not been properly disposed of, “for example, there have been about 20000 unidentified bodies stored in the airport warehouse in Bogota recently

CED stated that there is an urgent need for more funding and specialized personnel, as well as strengthened accountability mechanisms, to ensure that Colombian officials can take responsibility. The press release states, “The families of every missing person should receive clear, fair, and responsible answers. Behind every missing person is a family that is experiencing pain
